Redmi K30 live images reveal punch-hole design, 120Hz display confirmed
Over the past few weeks, several official teasers have confirmed that Xiaomi is all set to launch a 5G-ready Redmi K30 in China in December. The upcoming handset will arrive as an upgrade to the popular Redmi K20 featuring a punch-hole design (confirmed by teasers) and an industry-leading 120Hz display, according to a new tip-off. Here's a roundup of everything we know.
Redmi K30: Design and display
As per official leaks and leaked live images, the Redmi K30 will feature a dual punch-hole design to offer an edge-to-edge display - similar to the Galaxy S10. It is also expected to house a multi-camera system on the back and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. Further, leaks also suggest the phone will sport a 6.66-inch full-HD+ display with a high 120Hz refresh rate.
Redmi K30 could debut a 60MP Sony sensor
As per references spotted in MIUI 11, the Redmi K30 could debut Sony's IMX686 image sensor. At present, not much is known about IMX686 but it is expected to be a 60MP sensor. Evidently, this sensor will be aided by other telephoto and ultra-wide lenses.
Under the hood
Going by the leaked live images, the Redmi K30 will come with an Adreno 618 GPU, meaning it will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 730/730G chipset. We also expect to see up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of built-in storage. The phone will pack a 5G modem to enable support for the next-generation cellular network.
Redmi K30 will ship with a 30W charger
A Xiaomi device with the model number M2001G7AE, likely to be the standard Redmi K30, was recently certified in China with a 30W charger. Hence, we expect Redmi K30 to support at least 30W fast charging; the compatible adapter should come bundled in the box.
