Here's everything to know about Xiaomi's "flagship killer" Redmi K20
Xiaomi's sub-brand Redmi is expected to launch two new premium devices on May 28. Titled Redmi K20 Pro and Redmi K20, the former is believed to come with the flagship Snapdragon 855 chipset whereas the standard model is tipped to get a mid-level Snapdragon 730 processor. Leaks also suggest that these phones will feature an all-screen design and triple-lens rear camera. Here's our roundup.
Redmi K20 Pro and Redmi K20: At a glance
Both Redmi K20 Pro and K20 will share the same design, cameras, and features while sporting different chipsets. They will offer an all-screen design achieved by adopting a pop-up selfie camera along with a gradient finish on the back panel, an in-screen fingerprint sensor, and a headphone jack. Further, both the models are said to sport a 6.39-inch full-HD+ non-curved AMOLED display.
For the shutterbugs and selfie lovers
According to leaks and teasers, the Redmi K20 Pro and Redmi K20 will feature a triple-lens rear camera with a 48MP (f/1.8) main sensor, a 13MP (f/2.4) secondary sensor and another 8MP (f/2.4) sensor. Up front, both the phones are expected to offer a 20MP selfie snapper with an f/2.0 aperture.
Under the hood
The Redmi K20 Pro will be powered by Qualcomm's top-of-the-line Snapdragon 855 chipset whereas the standard K20 will be backed by a Snapdragon 730 processor. Further, both the models are tipped to come with upto 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Under the hood, they will house 4,000mAh battery and are rumored to support 27W fast charging via a USB Type-C port.
Pricing and availability
The Redmi K20 series will launch in China on May 28. Notably, Xiaomi India head Manu Kumar Jain has confirmed that the new phones will arrive "soon" in India as well. Meanwhile, the Pro model is tipped to launch at a starting price of CNY 2,599 (Rs. 26,100) for the 6GB/64GB variant and go upto CNY 2,999 (Rs. 30,200) for the 8GB/128GB variant.
