Redmi K20 Pro, K20 officially launched in China: Details here
After a bunch of leaks and rumors, Xiaomi's sub-brand Redmi has officially launched its much anticipated Redmi K20 Pro and Redmi K20 in China. Dubbed as 'flagship killers', the smartphones offer an AMOLED display, triple rear cameras, and an in-screen fingerprint sensor. Notably, these are the company's first smartphones to house a pop-up module for the selfie camera. Here is our roundup.
Let's have a look at both the smartphones
Both Redmi K20 Pro and K20 share the same design. They offer an all-screen design achieved by adopting a pop-up selfie camera along with a gradient finish on the back panel and an in-screen fingerprint sensor. The phones also feature a 6.39-inch full-HD+ non-curved AMOLED display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio and Gorilla Glass 5 protection.
For the shutterbugs and selfie lovers
For photography, the Redmi K20 Pro and Redmi K20 house a triple-lens rear camera with a 48MP (f/1.8) main sensor, a 13MP (f/2.4) secondary sensor and another 8MP (f/2.4) sensor. The rear cameras of the phones are capable of recording 2160p video at 60fps. Meanwhile, these phones offer a 20MP (f/2.0) selfie snapper packed in a motorized pop-up module.
Under the hood
Redmi K20 Pro is powered by a Snapdragon 855 chipset with upto 8GB RAM and upto 256GB storage (expandable upto 512GB), while the Redmi K20 is backed by a Snapdragon 730 processor with upto 6GB RAM and upto 128GB storage. Further, both the phones pack a 4,000mAh battery. The Pro model offers 27W fast-charging support while the standard K20 supports 18W fast-charging.
Connectivity options and sensor details
In terms of connectivity options, Redmi K20 and K20 Pro support dual-SIMs with 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi, GPS, and a USB Type-C port. Moreover, both the devices offer all standard sensors including accelerometer, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Finally, what's the pocket pinch?
In China, the Redmi K20 Pro starts at CNY 2,499 (around Rs. 25,200) while the Redmi K20 is priced at CNY 1,999 (around Rs. 20,200). Both the smartphones will be up for grabs in China from the first week of June. Also, Xiaomi India CEO Manu Jain confirmed that these phones would arrive in India "soon".
