Xiaomi teases launch of Redmi 7A in India: Details here
As the successor to its best-selling Redmi 6A, Xiaomi is working to introduce the Redmi 7A in India soon. The company's top boss in the country, Manu Kumar Jain, has confirmed the arrival of the budget phone in a tweet saying "Redmi 7A is coming to continue the legacy." To recall, the Redmi 7A was launched in China last month. Here's everything to know.

So, when will Redmi 7A launch in India?
While Jain's tweet confirms the arrival of Redmi 7A in India, it doesn't reveal a launch date. However, if previous reports are to be believed, we might see Redmi 7A go official alongside Redmi K20 Pro and Redmi K20 smartphones sometime in mid-July.
Redmi 7A: At a glance
Right of the bat, Redmi 7A looks like a budget range offering. Up front, the phone has a conventional display with prominent bezels while on the rear, the matte-finished polycarbonate body houses a single camera. It features a 5.45-inch display with a resolution of 720x1440 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9. Notably, the handset misses out on a physical fingerprint scanner.
For the shutterbugs and selfie lovers
The Redmi 7A offers a single 13MP rear camera with LED. The primary camera comes with features such as PDAF, AI Beauty, Night Mode, and AI Portrait Mode. Up front, there is a 5MP selfie snapper that also supports Face Unlock feature.
Under the hood
The Redmi 7A is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 chipset, paired with 2GB/3GB of RAM and 16GB/32GB of storage (expandable upto 256GB). Under the hood, it runs on Android Pie-based MIUI 10 and packs a 4,000mAh battery which supports 10W fast-charging. Lastly, the phone comes with all standard sensors and connectivity options including dual-SIM support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and micro-USB port.
Redmi 7A could launch in India at around Rs. 6,000
In China, the Redmi 7A costs CNY 549 (approximately Rs. 5,500) for its base-end 2GB/16GB variant and CNY 599 (approximately Rs. 6,000) for the 3GB/32GB storage model. Hence, we can expect the smartphone to launch in India at a starting price of around Rs. 6,000.
