Redmi 7A available via open sale till August 18
Redmi 7A, which was till now sold through flash sales and offline stores, is now available via open sale in the country. The handset can now be purchased on Flipkart and Mi.com till August 18. As for the key highlights, the phone offers an HD+ display, a 12MP single rear camera, a solid 4,000mAh battery, and entry-level internals. Here's more.

To recall, the Redmi 7A features a rectangular conventional display with sizeable bezels surrounding the screen. On the rear side, the polycarbonate panel with matte-finish houses a single camera and LED flash. The phone features a 5.45-inch LCD display with HD+ (720x1440 pixels) resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. Moreover, it is available in Matte Black, Matte Blue, Foggy Gold, and Matte Gold color options.
What's the camera like on Redmi 7A?
In terms of optics, the Redmi 7A houses a single 12MP (f/2.2) rear camera and a 5MP (f/2.2) selfie shooter. The main camera offers photography features such as AI scene detection, panorama, HDR, and supports 1080p video recording at 30fps.

The Redmi 7A draws power from an entry-level Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 processor. The company has paired this chipset with 2GB RAM and 16GB/32GB of internal storage (expandable upto 256GB). Under the hood, the phone runs on Android Pie-based MIUI 10 and is backed by a 4,000mAh battery that supports 10W fast-charging technology.

The Redmi 7A packs all standard sensors and supports the latest connectivity options including dual-SIMs (Nano), VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, micro-USB port, and headphone jack. However, it misses a fingerprint sensor, so you will have to rely on passwords/patterns, and face scanning for secure unlocking.
Finally, what about pricing?
In India, the Redmi 7A costs Rs. 5,999 for the 2GB/16GB model and Rs. 6,199 for 2GB/32GB variant. The phone is also available in the offline market through Xiaomi partner stores. However, offline pricing is different from the online market's price. In the offline stores, the 2GB/16GB variant sells at Rs. 6,199 and the 2GB/32GB model is available at Rs. 6,399.
