Chinese tech giant Xiaomi is gearing up to launch its budget-range Redmi 7A in India. In the latest development, XDA Developers reported that the smartphone will be launched in the country alongside Redmi K20 Pro and Redmi K20. The key highlights of the smartphone include its HD+ display, a solid 4,000mAh battery, a 13MP camera, and entry-level internals. Here's our roundup.
Redmi 7A: At a glance
Talking about looks, the Redmi 7A comes with a polycarbonate body and offers a conventional display with prominent bezels on the front, while the back houses a single camera. Further, the phone features a 5.45-inch display with a resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9. It is available in Blue and Matte Black colors.
For the shutterbugs and selfie lovers
In terms of optics, the Redmi 7A houses a single 13MP primary camera with LED flash on the back. Up front, the phone sports a 5MP snapper for selfies along with Face Unlock support. Moreover, the rear camera offers features such as PDAF, AI beauty, Night Mode and AI portrait mode.

Redmi 7A is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 chipset, paired with upto 3GB of RAM and upto 32GB of storage (expandable upto 256GB). Further, the phone packs a solid 4,000mAh battery with 10W fast-charging support and runs Android Pie based MIUI 10. It comes with all standard sensors and connectivity options including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and micro-USB port.

In China, the Redmi 7A starts at CNY 549 (approximately Rs. 5,500) for its base-end 2GB/16GB variant and goes upto CNY 599 (approximately Rs. 6,000) for its top-end 3GB/32GB storage model. Hence, we expect the smartphone to launch at a starting price of Rs. 6,000 in India. Lastly, it will lock horns with Samsung Galaxy M10 and Realme C2 in the country.
