All you need to know about world's first 64MP smartphone
Realme's hotly awaited 64MP camera phone, the Realme XT, has been revealed in entirety, ahead of its launch in October. The company has shared its review units with several media houses/reviewers, allowing full specifications and features to go public. As for highlights, the phone arrives with an impressive 64MP quad rear camera, a mid-range chipset, and a familiar design. Here's more.
Realme XT offers a familiar waterdrop notched design
Contrary to previous rumors which hinted at an all-screen design, the Realme XT comes with a familiar waterdrop notched screen we've seen on countless handsets. On the rear, the 3D curved glass body houses a vertically-mounted quad-lens camera unit- similar to the Realme 5-series. Further, the phone bears a 6.4-inch AMOLED screen with a full-HD+ resolution and Gorilla Glass 5 protection on both sides.
Realme XT sports a 64MP quad camera setup
The Realme XT offers a quad-lens rear camera setup comprising a 64MP (f/1.8) primary sensor, paired with an 8MP wide-angle sensor, a 2MP macro lens, and a 2MP depth sensor for advanced bokeh effects. On the front, the phone comes with a 16MP selfie snapper.
Under the hood
The Realme XT is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 chipset, combined with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 128GB of onboard storage. Under the hood, it houses a 4,000mAh battery which supports 20W VOOC 3.0 fast charging. Lastly, the handset runs on Android Pie-based Color OS 6.0 and offers all the standard connectivity including a Type-C port and a headphone jack.
Realme XT could be priced under Rs. 20,000
Interestingly, Realme is taking on rivals like Xiaomi and Samsung by launching camera-centric phones with mid-levels processors at affordable prices. Just recently, the company introduced a segment-first 48MP quad-lens camera on the Realme 5 Pro, at a starting price of Rs. 14,000. Hence, we expect Realme XT to feature mid-range specs, an impressive 64MP quad-camera and arrive in India somewhere under Rs. 20,000.
