Realme A1 to soon launch as company's new budget smartphone
What's the story
In a bid to expand its portfolio of smartphones, Realme will launch a new budget range smartphone in India, according to reputed tipster Ishan Agarwal.
Dubbed as Realme A1, the tipster has claimed that this phone will be positioned below the recently launched Realme U1.
Separately, some reports suggest the phone could be priced around Rs. 10,000.

Currently, Realme has four smartphones in its lineup
The Realme C1 is the most affordable option in the lineup. The phone has recently received a hike of Rs. 1,000 and now retails for Rs. 7,999.
After Realme C1, you have Realme 2 and Realme U1 which start at Rs. 8,990 and Rs. 11,999 respectively.
The Realme 2 Pro is the company's most expensive smartphone and it starts at Rs. 13,990.
Speculations
Realme A1 could share some features of Realme UI
While there are no details regarding the hardware specifications of the upcoming Realme A1, the phone is expected to share some features of Realme U1.
According to Android-focused blog DroidShout, Realme A1 could come with a Dewdrop notched display, a dual rear camera setup, and a single selfie camera.

Under the hood
Realme A1 may get MediaTek P60 or Snapdragon 600-series processor
The Realme U1 is the first smartphone to debut the octa-core MediaTek Helio P70 chipset.
However, considering Realme A1 will be positioned below Realme U1, the upcoming smartphone could get MediaTek Helio P60 chip or possibly a low-end Qualcomm Snapdragon 600-series processor.
Moreover, Realme A1 is expected to run Android Oreo-based ColorOS 5.2 out-of-the-box.

The phone is expected to launch in early 2019
While we know Realme is working on a new budget range smartphone, we do not have a definite launch timeline as of now.
That said, tipster Ishan Agarwal claims that the company will "soon" launch Realme A1 in India.
This means we can expect to see Realme A1 sometime in the first quarter of 2019.
