Realme GT 5G banned by AnTuTu benchmark over alleged cheating
A week after Realme's flagship GT 5G went on sale in China, processor benchmarking platform AnTuTu has banned the smartphone for three months over manipulating the scores. AnTuTu said that Realme had delayed some threads while running the tests in order to achieve higher benchmarking scores. The platform also accused Realme of modifying the reference image in the UX test to reduce processing times.
How much did Realme GT 5G score on AnTuTu?
The Realme GT 5G is fueled by the flagship Snapdragon 888 chipset and was marketed with an AnTuTu score of over 7,50,000. In comparison, the Mi 11 scored 7,08,000 despite having the same chipset.
'Working with AnTuTu to sort out the issue'
"Benchmark scores of Realme GT are all accurate data under the current versions of the AnTuTu benchmark. Realme has always been committed to bringing users excellent performance, the actual user experience is the top priority for Realme," the company said. "On the other hand, regarding the test issues doubted by both sides, we are in touch with AnTuTu to sort it out positively."
Realme GT 5G has a 120Hz screen
The Realme GT 5G features a punch-hole design with slim bezels and an in-display fingerprint sensor. On the rear, it has a triple camera unit. The device sports a 6.43-inch Full-HD+ (1080x2400 pixels) Super AMOLED screen with an aspect ratio of 20:9 and a 120Hz refresh rate. It is offered in leather back and glass back options.
It flaunts a 64MP main camera
The Realme GT 5G bears a triple rear camera module, including a 64MP (f/1.8) primary sensor, an 8MP (f/2.3) ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP (f/2.4) macro shooter. Up front, it has a 16MP (f/2.5) selfie snapper.
The smartphone offers 65W fast-charging support
The Realme GT 5G draws power from a Snapdragon 888 chipset, coupled with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. Under the hood, it boots Android 11-based Realme UI 2.0 and packs a 4,500mAh battery with 65W fast-charging support. For connectivity, the device offers support for Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, NFC, 5G, a headphone jack, and a Type-C port.

In China, the Realme GT 5G costs CNY 2,799 (roughly Rs. 31,500) for the 8GB/128GB variant and CNY 3,299 (approximately Rs. 37,100) for the 12GB/256GB model.
