Realme 8 5G to debut in India on April 22
Realme is all set to launch its 5G-ready smartphone, the 8 5G, in India on April 22. The event will be live-streamed via Realme's Facebook page and YouTube channel from 12:30pm. As for the highlights, the handset will come with a MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset, a 90Hz screen, a triple rear camera setup, and a 5,000mAh battery. Here are more details.
The smartphone will bear a Full-HD+ display
The Realme 8 5G will feature a punch-hole design with a prominent bottom bezel and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. On the rear, it will pack a square-shaped triple camera setup. The handset will have a 6.5-inch Full-HD+ (1080x2400 pixels) IPS LCD screen with a 90Hz refresh rate and a 20:9 aspect ratio. It will be offered in Supersonic Blue and Supersonic Black color variants.
The phone will sport a 48MP primary camera
The Realme 8 5G will come with a triple rear camera setup comprising a 48MP (f/1.8) main sensor, a 2MP (f/2.4) macro lens, and a 2MP (f/2.4) depth sensor. On the front, there will be an 8MP (f/2.0) selfie snapper.
It will draw power from a Dimensity 700 chipset
The Realme 8 5G will be fueled by a MediaTek Dimensity 700 processor, paired with 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. It will boot Android 11-based Realme UI 2.0 and pack a 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast-charging support. In terms of connectivity, the smartphone should offer support for dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, NFC, a headphone jack, and a Type-C port.
Realme 8 5G: Pricing and availability
The official pricing details of the Realme 8 5G in India will be announced at the time of the launch on April 22. However, considering the specifications, it may cost around Rs. 15,000. The handset will be available for purchase via Flipkart.
