Realme 5, Pro variant to be launched on August 20
Realme is set to launch Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro in India on August 20 as the first phones to offer quad rear cameras in the budget range. However, their camera prowess is not the only highlight. As per a Flipkart teaser, the Realme 5 will pack a 5,000mAh battery. Separately, the Pro model will offer support for VOOC 3.0 fast-charging. Here's more.
Realme 5 Pro, Realme 5 to feature waterdrop notched displays
According to teasers and leaks, both the Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro will sport a waterdrop notched screen. On the rear, they will feature a gradient design and pack quad cameras. The regular Realme 5 is tipped to come with an HD+ LCD display while the Pro model may offer a full-HD+ AMOLED screen with an integrated fingerprint sensor.
For the shutterbugs and selfie lovers
Further, the Realme 5 is rumored to come with 16MP main sensor while the Pro model is said to offer a 48MP Sony IMX586 primary sensor. Both the phones will also house a secondary 119-degree ultra-wide-angle lens, a super macro lens, and a depth sensor for advanced bokeh effects. For selfies, these phones will offer a single front-facing camera.
Under the hood
Going by leaks and reports, the Realme 5 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 chipset while the Pro model will get a Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 processor. The standard model is confirmed to pack a 5,000mAh battery, the biggest ever on a Realme phone. The battery capacity on the Pro model is unclear but it will support VOOC 3.0 fast charging.
Realme 5 series tipped to start at Rs. 8,999
Citing industry sources, 91Mobiles has claimed that Realme 5 will come at a starting price of Rs. 8,999, same as Realme 3i's. Moreover, going by the rumored specs, the Pro model could arrive around Rs. 15,000.
