Realme 2 Specs and launch: Everything we know so far
Realme, which started off as the sub-brand of OPPO but is now an independent entity, would soon be launching Realme 2 - the successor to Realme 1. As per the media invite, the phone will be unveiled on August 28 at 12pm. Moreover, according to official teasers, it's expected to sport a notched display and a new dual rear camera setup. Here's our roundup.
Realme 2: At a glance
According to official teasers, Realme 2 will feature the same notch-based 6.0-inch full-HD+ display seen on its predecessor. On the back, the Realme 2 will retain the diamond-cut design but will now sport a dual rear-camera setup as against the single camera on Realme 1. Notably, it will also come with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor - a feature missing on Realme 1.
For the shutterbugs and selfie lovers
In terms of optics, the Realme 2 will sport a dual rear camera setup comprising a 13-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor, along with an LED flash. In comparison, the Realme 1 features a single 13-megapixel primary camera with LED flash. Up front, the Realme 2 may borrow the 8MP selfie snapper as seen on its predecessor.
Under the hood
In terms of other specs, not much is known as of now. That said, the Realme 2 is likely to retain the MediaTek Helio P60 processor that powered its predecessor and will pack a bigger 4,230mAh battery as against the 3,400mAh battery on Realme 1. Further, we expect up to 6GB RAM and up to 128GB internal storage in this model.
Realme 2 may start at around Rs. 10,000
The Realme 1 costs Rs. 8,990 for the 3GB RAM/32GB storage variant, Rs. 10,990 for the 4GB RAM/64GB option and Rs. 13,990 for the 6GB RAM/128GB variant. Thus, keeping in mind the upgrades such as dual rear-cameras and bigger battery, we expect the Realme 2 to come at a starting price of around Rs. 10,000.
