Realme 2 Pro gets Android Pie update in India
Chinese tech-giant Realme has started rolling out Android Pie-based ColorOS 6 update to its budget range Realme 2 Pro in India. The new update will be pushed in a phased manner via over-the-air (OTA) method. Notably, the size of the update is 2.25GB, so we recommend you to use a stable internet connection while downloading and installing it. Here are the details.
What's new in this update?
With the latest update, the Realme 2 Pro gets new gesture-based navigation, adaptive battery, adaptive brightness, an improved Do Not Disturb mode, simplified volume controls, and a revamped notifications panel. In addition, the new update brings a bunch of brand's in-house apps including Realme Theme Store, Realme App Market, Realme Game Center, and a Realme Community app across certain regions.
Notably, not all users will receive the update
"OTA will be randomly pushed out to a limited number of users today and will have a broader roll-out in a few days. If no critical bugs are found, the full roll-out will be completed in the upcoming days," the company said in a statement.

To recall, the Realme 2 Pro sports an edge-to-edge display with a waterdrop notch and a prominent bottom bezel. On the back, there is a polycarbonate panel which has a transparent, glossy effect that Realme claims is created using a 15-layer laminated technology. Realme 2 Pro features a 6.3-inch (1080x2340 pixels) full-HD+ display with 409ppi density, 90.8% screen-to-body ratio and 19.5:9 aspect ratio.
What's the camera like on Realme 2 Pro?
As for cameras, Realme 2 Pro sports a dual rear camera setup comprising a 16MP (f/1.7) Sony IMX398 sensor, paired with a 2MP (f/2.4) depth sensor. The rear camera comes with dual-pixel fast focusing, AI-based scene recognition, and supports 4K video-recording at 30fps. Up front, there's a 16MP (f/2.0) selfie snapper which offers AI-based features such as Beauty 2.0, Face recognition and portrait mode.

The Realme 2 Pro is fueled by Snapdragon 660 chipset, coupled with Adreno 512 GPU, 4GB/6GB/8GB RAM, and 64GB/128GB of storage (expandable upto 256GB). Under the hood, it packs a 3,500mAh battery and will now be running on Android Pie-based Color OS 6. Lastly, it offers all standard sensors and connectivity options including dual-SIM support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, micro-USB and a 3.5mm audio jack.
Realme 2 Pro starts at Rs. 11,990
The Realme 2 Pro starts at Rs. 11,990 for the base-end 4GB RAM/64GB storage variant. The mid-end 6GB/64GB model is priced at Rs. 13,990 while the top-end 8GB/128GB version costs Rs. 15,990. Further, it is available in Black Sea, Blue Ocean, and Ice Lake colors.
