Realme 2 Pro launched in India for Rs. 13,900
Days after launching the Realme 2, China-based Realme has unveiled its most-powerful smartphone yet - the Realme 2 Pro. The phone features a full-HD+ display with waterdrop notch, AI-powered cameras, Snapdragon 660 chipset and up to 8GB of RAM. Realme 2 Pro: At a glance
Up front, the phone sports an edge-to-edge display with a waterdrop notch (Realme calls it "Dewdrop") and a prominent bottom bezel. On the back, there's a polycarbonate panel which has a transparent, glossy effect that Realme claims is created using a 15-layer laminated technology. Realme 2 Pro features a 6.3-inch (1080x2340 pixels) full-HD+ display with 409ppi density, 90.8% screen-to-body ratio and 19.5:9 aspect ratio.
For the shutterbugs and selfie lovers
The Realme 2 Pro offers a dual rear-camera setup comprising a 16-MP (f/1.7) Sony IMX398 sensor, paired with a 2-MP (f/2.4) depth sensor. The rear camera comes with dual-pixel fast focusing, AI-based scene recognition, and supports 4K video-recording at 30fps (EIS only). Up front, there's a 16-MP (f/2.0) selfie snapper which comes with AI-based features such as Beauty 2.0, Face recognition and portrait mode.
Under the hood
The phone is powered by a Snapdragon 660 AIE processor, coupled with Adreno 512 GPU, and 4GB/6GB/8GB RAM options and 64GB/128GB of internal storage (expandable up to 256GB). Further, Realme 2 Pro runs Android Oreo 8.1-based ColorOS OS 5.2 and packs a 3,500mAh battery. Notably, the battery size here is a bummer considering the Realme 2, with inferior specs, packs a bigger 4,230mAh battery.
Connectivity options and sensors onboard Realme 2 Pro
Connectivity options on the Realme 2 Pro include dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/c, Bluetooth 5.0, micro-USB and a 3.5mm audio jack. In terms of sensor onboard the phone, there's an ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, gyroscope, gravity sensor, and a geomagnetic sensor. Further, there's also a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and AI-based Face Unlock feature.
Pricing and availability
The Realme 2 Pro starts at Rs. 13,990 for the base-end 4GB RAM/64GB storage variant. The mid-end 6GB/64GB model is priced at Rs. 15,990 while the top-end 8GB/128GB version costs Rs. 17,990. The phone is available in Black Sea, Blue Ocean, and Ice Lake colors and will be available for purchase from October 11 at 12am (midnight) exclusively via Flipkart.
