Apple's recently launched iPad Pro is now available for pre-orders in India. The all-new tablet, set to go on sale in India starting November 16, can be pre-booked online via Unicorn Store or offline via Maple Store. It comes in 11-inch and 12.9-inch sizes and will be available in the country at a starting price of Rs. 71,900. Here's everything to know.
Apple iPad Pro (2018): At a glance
The all-new iPad Pro features an iPhone X-inspired design with rounded corners, slimmer bezels, and a thin 5.99mm chassis made from 100% recycled aluminum. The 11-inch model gets a 2388x1668-pixel resolution while the larger 12.9-inch variant has a 2732x2048-pixel resolution. Notably, both the models sport a Liquid Retina LCD display with support for True Tone and ProMotion technology, 600-nits brightness, and 120Hz refresh rate.
For the shutterbugs and selfie lovers
The revamped iPad Pro gets a 12MP (f/1.8) rear camera with up to 5x digital zoom, Smart HDR, and quad-LED True Tone flash. The primary camera supports 4K video recording at 30/60fps and slow-motion video recording for 1080p at 120fps and 720p at 240fps. Up front, there's 7MP (f/2.2) TrueDepth camera which comes with features such as Portrait mode, Portrait Lighting, Animoji, and Memoji.
Under the hood
The 2018 iPad Pro runs on an A12X Bionic chipset with 64-bit architecture, paired with a dedicated Neural Engine and Embedded M12 coprocessor. The latest iPad Pro comes with 4GB RAM on models with 64GB, 256GB and 512GB internal storage whereas the 1TB storage variant packs a 6GB RAM. Notably, both 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pros offer up to 10 hours of battery life.
Connectivity Options, sensors onboard, and other things tech
The new iPad Pro supports dual-band Wi‑Fi 802.11 with MIMO support, Bluetooth 5.0, Gigabit-class LTE, dual-SIM support (Nano + eSIM), Assisted GPS, GLONASS, Digital compass, and USB Type-C (no headphone jack). It comes with Face ID (works in both landscape and portrait mode), gyroscope, Accelerometer, Barometer, and Ambient light sensor. Moreover, the latest Apple tablet packs four speakers, a magnetic connector and smart connector.
New Apple Pencil and Smart Keyboard Folio
Along the new iPad Pro, Apple has also introduced a redesigned Apple Pencil and a Smart Keyboard Folio. The new Apple Pencil, sporting a matte finish and seamless design, now supports double tap gestures. It can also magnetically attach to the iPad Pro and charge wirelessly. Further, the new Smart Keyboard Folio offers a full-size keyboard, two viewing angles, and protection for the tablet.
The new iPad Pro starts at Rs. 71,900
The 11-inch iPad Pro (Wi-Fi only) starts at Rs. 71,900 whereas the Wi-Fi + Cellular variant starts at Rs. 85,900. The 12.9-inch model (Wi-Fi only) starts at Rs. 89,900 while its Wi-Fi + Cellular variant starts at Rs. 1,03,900. Further, the second-generation Apple Pencil costs Rs. 10,990 and the Smart Keyboard Folio costs Rs. 15,900 (11-inch) and Rs. 17,900 (12.9-inch) in India.
Launch offers and availability
The 2018 iPad Pro will go on sale in India starting November 16 via all Apple authorized resellers. In terms of launch offers, Maple and Unicorn are offering upto 5% cashback on EMI via CITI and Axis Bank credit cards and no-cost EMI options.
