PornHub launches VPN to offer better security, free unlimited bandwidth
PornHub has launched its own virtual private network (VPN) service called VPNHub. It will allow users to bypass geographic limitations, avoid ISP throttling, and transmit data anonymously without itself collecting any of it. With VPNHub, users will also be provided with free and unlimited bandwidth. The service is available on Android, iOS, MacOS, and Windows.
VPNHub will provide an added layer of privacy
Pornhub's VP Corey Price said, "With 90 million visitors a day, the vast majority of whom are using devices on the go, it's especially important that we continue to ensure the privacy of our users." He added that incognito browsers don't offer enough anonymity and you can still be targeted by "prying eyes," especially if you're on public Wi-Fi networks.
VPNHub banned in countries that US doesn't do business with
The service will be available in many countries including Australia, Brazil, Canada, Japan, Singapore, and the UK. Notably, it will be banned in the countries that the US doesn't do business with, including Myanmar, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, and Syria. Pornhub also warned users that the VPN might be blocked in countries like Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and China.
Users can take free 7-day trial of the premium version
While PornHub's VPN will be free on mobile devices, its desktop version will come at a premium in exchange for no ads and a faster connection. The premium version will also offer additional country options for users to login from, while users of the free version can only access their nearest server. The premium subscription costs $13 a month or $90 a year.
Here's how you can check if the VPN is working
Once you have set up and activated the VPN, you can go to a website called WhatisMyIPAddress.com. If the VPN is working, the website will show a random IP address instead of your actual one and display your location to be a generic city.
