Poco F1 gets Game Turbo app for better gaming experience
As part of the latest MIUI 10 Global Beta update, Xiaomi has introduced Game Turbo app on its popular Poco F1 phone. The Game Turbo mode arrives as a system app which boosts the gaming experience as well as allows the players to take a screenshot or access WhatsApp and Chrome browser without leaving the game. Here's all about it.
What's new in the update?
The Game Turbo app allows users to start screen recording, take a screenshot or switch DND, turn on Wi-Fi, change brightness settings without leaving the game. Apart from this, users can also access other apps such as File Manager, WhatsApp and Chrome in a floating window within the game. According to FoneArena, the gaming mode comes with a yellow accent matching with Poco theme.
Games are shown as cards on the homepage
As per the report, the homepage will show all the games, for which the Game Turbo mode is enabled, either in cards or in a list format. Further, the Game Turbo Settings menu comes redesigned in this latest update. The Chinese tech giant has also introduced the gaming feature on several of its Redmi smartphones including Redmi Note 5 Pro.

Up front, the Poco F1 features a notch-based display with a slightly wider cut-out and a prominent bottom bezel. On the back, the phone gets a polycarbonate panel which houses a dual camera setup and a fingerprint sensor. The Poco F1 sports a 6.18-inch full-HD+ (2246x1080) display with 500-nits brightness, 403ppi pixel density, and is protected by a curved Gorilla Glass 3.

The Poco F1 features a rear dual-camera setup comprising a 12MP (f/1.9) Sony IMX363 sensor with 1.4-micron pixel and dual-pixel autofocus, paired with a 5MP (f/2.0) secondary depth sensor. Up front, there's a 20MP camera with support for AI-based Portrait mode and Scene detection with India-specific optimizations. The primary camera can shoot 4K videos at 30fps and slow-mo in 720p/1080p at up to 240fps.
Under the hood
The Poco F1 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor with dedicated LiquidCool Technology, paired with 6GB/8GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB/256GB of inbuilt storage (expandable up to 256GB). It runs Android Pie-based MIUI 10 and packs a 4,000mAh battery with support for Quick Charge 4.0. Further, the phone comes with all standard connectivity setups and sensors like accelerometer, proximity, and compass.
