Blast-from-the-past: Pebble smartwatches return with 30-day battery life in 2025
What's the story
Pebble, one of the early popular smartwatch makers, has made a comeback.
The brand became popular in 2012 for its innovative e-paper display and amazing battery longevity (30-day life).
Eric Migicovsky, the original mind behind Pebble, has revived the concept through his new venture Core Devices.
The revival promises to bring back the long-lasting wearables that fans loved, which predated the rise of competitors like the Apple Watch.

Core Devices has unveiled two new models: The Core 2 Duo and the Core Time 2.
These smartwatches are basically upgraded versions of Pebble's last model, the Pebble 2. They promise the same long-lasting battery life as their predecessor, but with a number of improvements.
Pre-booking for these devices is already open in select regions, hinting at the brand's highly-anticipated return.

The Core 2 Duo features a small 1.26-inch black-and-white display, while its counterpart Core Time 2 features a large touch-enabled screen at a generous 1.5-inch.
This model offers extra features like a heart rate sensor and sleep tracking, which might impact its ability to achieve the promised battery backup of up to 30 days.
