OPPO Watch to launch on March 6: Details here
OPPO is all set to launch its first-ever smartwatch, the OPPO Watch on March 6, alongside the Find X2 and Find X2 Pro flagship smartphones. So far, a handful of official teasers have revealed that the wearable will come with an Apple Watch-like design but with some distinct elements. Moreover, it will support e-SIM for calling and have ECG capabilities as well.
OPPO Watch will feature an Apple Watch-like design
Several official teasers have revealed that the OPPO Watch will sport Apple Watch-like design with a square shape, rounded corners, metal casing, and quick release straps. It will also use a flexible display and curved edges to distinguish itself from the flat-screened Apple Watch. Further, renders have revealed Gold and Dark Blue color variants, but we can expect to see other finishes as well.
OPPO's smartwatch won't come with a crown
The Apple Watch comes with a circular Digital Crown that helps users navigate through menus, zoom in or out on images, and perform other functions as well. However, the OPPO smartwatch won't sport the crown hardware. Instead, there will be two physical buttons placed on the right side of the case that may be used for various navigational and control functions.
OPPO's smartwatch will support ECG, run on Google's WearOS
According to rumors, the OPPO Watch will support ECG testing, drawing yet another similarity with Apple's wearable. As for software support, the device will run on Google's WearOS. We also expect it to offer a bunch of health-focused features like calorie count, sleep tracking, heart rate monitoring, and support for various workouts and sports.
It will also have e-SIM support for calling
Some of the official teasers also highlight that the upcoming OPPO wearable will also support calling functions. Hence, it is safe to presume that it will have e-SIM capability to help users make and receive calls right from the device.
