OPPO Reno8's leaked render suggests OnePlus 10 Pro-like design
OPPO is gearing up to introduce its Reno8 series. Now, the design render and key specifications of the vanilla Reno8 have surfaced on Weibo. The leaked render suggests that the phone will have a design similar to that of the OnePlus 10 Pro. The series will go official soon, as the company usually follows a six-months launch cycle with Reno handsets.
Why does this story matter?
We have seen different members of the BBK Group releasing phones that look identical to offerings from their sister companies. The leaked render of the OPPO Reno8 suggests that the company will use the same "design recycling" strategy with its upcoming Reno series. With the OnePlus 10 Pro already launched globally, we can expect the new Reno series to be launched soon.
The handset is expected to feature a 120Hz AMOLED display
The OPPO Reno8 will feature a OnePlus 10 Pro-like design with a punch-hole cut-out on the top-left corner, slim bezels, and an in-display fingerprint sensor. On the rear, it will sport a huge, rectangular camera unit. The handset is likely to bear a 6.55-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support, and Corning Gorilla Glass protection.
It will flaunt a 50MP main camera
The OPPO Reno8 will be equipped with a triple rear camera unit, including a 50MP Sony IMX766 main shooter and two other unspecified sensors. Up front, it will have a single selfie camera.
It is likely to run on Android 12
Details of the processor, RAM, and storage of the OPPO Reno8 are scarce at the moment. However, we can expect the phone to be powered by an octa-core chipset, paired with at least up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. Under the hood, it should boot Android 12-based ColorOS and should support fast wired charging.
OPPO Reno8: Pricing and availability
The official pricing and availability details of the OPPO Reno8 will be announced at the time of its launch. However, we expect it to start at around Rs. 30,000.
