Everything to know about Reno, OPPO's upcoming 48MP camera phone
OPPO is working to launch a new smartphone on April 10 under its all-new "Reno" product line. Dubbed as Reno, the upcoming phone will be a camera-centric device that's likely to feature a 48MP triple rear camera setup and OPPO's proprietary 10x lossless zoom technology. Here's everything we know so far about OPPO Reno.
OPPO Reno: At a glance
A Chinese tipster has leaked press renders of the OPPO Reno, revealing a vertically-stacked triple rear camera setup. Further, the lack of a physical fingerprint scanner on the rear means the phone could possibly come with an in-display sensor. Moreover, the tip-off shows four renders, showing the four different color options of OPPO Reno - Black, Green, Purple, and Pink.
OPPO Reno to come with a 48MP triple rear-camera setup
OPPO Vice President Brian Shen has shared some sample photos clicked using the Reno. In his post, he confirmed that images were clicked using the phone's 48MP camera sensor. Separately, a tipster has also claimed that OPPO Reno will come with the company's 10x lossless zoom technology and teased this feature by posting wide-angle shots and zoomed images of famous landmarks.
How OPPO's 10x lossless zoom works?
At the recently concluded Mobile World Congress, OPPO showcased a novel triple camera system working in tandem to deliver high-quality shots with lossless 10x zoom. The main 48MP camera captures regular shots with fine details, while the 8MP ultra-wide camera captures shots with a 120-degree field of view. Finally, the 12MP telephoto, set up like a periscope, delivers 10x zoom.
Everything else we know about OPPO Reno
As per some reports, the OPPO Reno is said to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 chipset. The phone may also come with a 6.4-inch full-HD+ display and offer a 16MP selfie camera. However, we don't know if the selfie snapper will be housed in a display notch or in a slider/pop-up camera mechanism.
