OPPO is all set to launch its premium OPPO R17 Pro in India today at an event scheduled in Mumbai. Those interested can live stream the event starting 8pm via OPPO's social media accounts and official YouTube page. The phone, which has been available for pre-ordering since December 1, will be available exclusively via Amazon. Here's our roundup of OPPO R17 Pro.
OPPO R17 Pro: At a glance
Up front, the phone sports a waterdrop-like notched display with a 91.5% body-to-screen ratio On the back, it packs a triple camera setup, housed in a glass panel with a gradient finish (Radiant Mist variant). Further, the OPPO R17 Pro features a 6.4-inch full HD+ (1080x2340 pixels) display with a 19:9 aspect ratio, Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection, and an in-display fingerprint sensor.

The OPPO R17 Pro sports a triple rear-camera setup comprising a 12MP main sensor with f/1.5-2.4 variable aperture, a 20MP (f/1.6) secondary sensor, and a Time of Flight (T-o-F) 3D camera. Up front, the phone gets a 25MP selfie snapper with an f/2.0 aperture and several AI-powered features.

The OPPO R17 Pro is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor, paired with 6GB/8GB RAM, and 128GB of internal storage. Further, the phone runs Android Oreo-based ColorOS 5.2 and packs a 3,700mAh battery with support for SuperVOOC Flash Charge (fast charging technology) which offers 40% charge in just 10 minutes.
Connectivity options and sensors onboard the OPPO R17 Pro
In terms of connectivity options, the phone supports dual-SIM (Nano) cards, dual 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth v5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/c, GPS, NFC, and USB Type-C port (no headphone jack). In terms of sensors on board the OPPO R17 Pro, there's an ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, e-compass, and an accelerometer. Further, the phone comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner as well.
OPPO R17 Pro could be priced around Rs. 40,000
In China, the OPPO R17 Pro is priced at CNY 3,999 (approx. Rs. 40,800) for the 6GB RAM/128GB storage variant and CNY 4,299 (approx. Rs. 43,900) for the 8GB RAM/128GB storage model. Hence, in India, we can expect the phone to be priced aggressively at around Rs. 40,000.
