    What's the story

    OPPO has launched its latest R17 Pro and R17 smartphones in India.

    The Pro variant, priced at Rs. 45,990, features a full-HD+ screen, in-display fingerprint sensor, Gorilla Glass 6 protection, triple rear-cameras, mid-level chipset, and SuperVOOC flash charge.

    The OPPO R17 also gets similar features but with trimmed down internals and costs Rs. 34,990 in India.

    Pricing and Availability

    The OPPO R17 Pro costs Rs. 45,990 for 8GB RAM/128GB storage variant. The phone is currently available for pre-ordering and will go on sale starting December 7 via Amazon, OPPO India e-store and other online and offline channels.

    The OPPO R17 is priced at Rs. 34,990 and the company is yet to announce its availability details.

    There is a 10% cashback on HDFC Bank cards. Jio is offering upto 3.2TB of 4G data and benefits worth upto Rs. 4,900. Further, buyers get a one-time free screen replacement, an extra Rs. 2,000 off on exchange, and Rs. 3,000 cashback from Paytm Mall.

    OPPO R17 Pro, R17: At a glance

    Up front, both the phones sport a waterdrop-like notched display with 91.5% body-to-screen ratio and dual-tone gradient back panels.

    On the back, the R17 Pro packs a triple camera setup while the R17 gets a dual-lens setup.

    Both the phones also feature a 6.4-inch full HD+ (1080x2340 pixels) display with a 19:9 aspect ratio, Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection, and an in-display fingerprint sensor.

    The Pro model sports a triple rear-camera setup comprising a 12MP (f/1.5-2.4) main sensor, a 20MP (f/1.6) secondary sensor, and a Time of Flight (T-o-F) 3D camera.

    On the other hand, the R17 gets a dual rear-camera setup consisting a 16MP (f/1.75) main sensor and a 5MP (f/2.4) secondary sensor.

    Up front, both phones pack a 25MP (f/2.0) selfie snapper with several AI-powered features.

    The OPPO R17 Pro is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor, paired with 8GB RAM, 128GB of internal storage and a 3,700mAh battery.

    On the other hand, the OPPO R17 gets a Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 chipset, coupled with 8GB RAM, 128GB storage and a 3,700mAh battery.

    Both the phones run Android Oreo-based ColorOS 5.1 and support SuperVOOC Flash Charge (fast charging technology).

    Connectivity options and sensors onboard the phones

    Both the OPPO R17 Pro and R17 support dual-SIM (Nano) cards, dual 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth v5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/c, and GPS.

    Notably, the Pro model comes with a USB Type-C port and NFC while the R17 settles with a micro-USB port.

    In terms of sensors, both the phones come with a standard set of sensors along with an in-display fingerprint sensor.
