OPPO R17 Pro with 8GB RAM gets major price cut
In a bid to boost its sales, OPPO has announced a major price cut on its famous mid-ranger R17 Pro. The company, which also owns OnePlus, has slashed the price of the device by Rs. 6,000, bringing it down to Rs. 39,990. The reduction will be applicable to both offline and online channels. OPPO R17 Pro: At a glance
OPPO had unveiled R17 Pro at a price of Rs. 45,990 in December 2018. The device packs a 6.4-inch full HD+ AMOLED display with a waterdrop-style notch, Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection, and an in-display fingerprint scanner. It comes in Emerald Green and Radiant Mist color options with a glass back boasting dual tone finish and a USB Type-C port at the bottom.
Plus, you get Snapdragon 710 under the hood
Under the hood, OPPO R17 Pro runs on Qualcomm's 1.8GHz octa-core Snapdragon 710 processor paired with 8GB of RAM, Adreno 616 GPU, and 128GB of internal storage. The storage on the device is not expandable via microSD but should give you enough headroom for day-to-day usage. Plus, you get Android Oreo-based ColorOS 5.1 and a 3,700mAh battery with support for SuperVOOC Flash Charge.
Charging upto 40% in just 10 minutes
The SuperVOOC fast-charging technology from OPPO is said to juice up the device 0-40% in just 10 minutes and 100% in 40 minutes.
Triple camera setup for the shutterbugs
OPPO R17 Pro sports a triple rear-camera setup comprising a 12MP (f/1.5-2.4) main sensor, paired with a 20MP (f/2.6) secondary sensor and a Time of Flight (T-o-F) 3D camera. Up front, the phone packs a 25MP (f/2.0) selfie snapper with several AI-powered features such as AI Beauty Camera beautification with a live preview option.
Connectivity options on R17 Pro
On the connectivity front, R17 Pro offers support for dual-SIM (Nano) cards, dual 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth v5.0, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/c, GPS, USB Type-C port with OTG support and NFC.
Notably, the price change has already come into effect
As the revised price has come into effect on sites like Amazon and Flipkart, you can buy R17 Pro right away. Also, do note that you can bundle the slashed price with other offers running on the stores such as bank offers or exchange discounts. At Rs. 39,990, R17, which is the only SD710 device after Nokia 8.1, would compete straight with OnePlus 6T.
