OPPO launches F7 smartphone with 25MP, AI-powered front camera
OPPO has launched its latest F7 smartphone that features a whopping 25MP, AI-powered selfie camera, and an iPhone X-like notch. Coming in as the successor to last year's OPPO F5, the phone features a 6.2-inch full-HD+ (2280 * 1080 pixels) Super Full Screen display panel with an aspect ratio of 19:9. It has a glossy design and comes in three color options.
AI-powered camera can sort photos, differentiate between landscape and humans
The AI technology in OPPO F7's camera automatically sorts photos in albums and recognizes 16 different entities like food, grass, landscape, and portrait mode. The camera's vivid mode identifies humans, locks their features to keep their faces natural, and then enhances everything in the photo. The camera app also supports AR stickers.

The OPPO F7 is powered by a 74-bit octa-core processor and runs the ColorOS 5.0 which is based on Android 8.1 OS. It features 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of ROM and a 3,400 mAh battery with AI Battery management. OPPO has also launched another model of the F7 which features 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage.
OPPO F7 will sell at a price of Rs. 21,990
While the 64 GB variant of the OPPO F7 is priced at Rs 21,990, the 128 GB variant is priced at Rs 26,990. The smartphone will start selling on e-commerce platform Flipkart from April 2. Notably, it was launched in the presence of Indian cricketers Rohit Sharma, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Hardik Pandya, who are all brand ambassadors of OPPO.
OPPO F7 features AI Board, Facial Unlock
The OPPO F7 features an AI Board that essentially scans through e-mails and messages to ensure that all important notices are displayed at the top for quick access. The phone also supports Facial Unlock which will not work if your eyes are closed. The company is also rolling out a diamond black edition for both the variants.
OPPO registered 370 patents related to AI
Brand Director of OPPO India Will Yang said that OPPO has 370 AI-related patents and 20,522 smartphone patents. Elaborating on the partnerships, he said, "We have partnered with Qualcomm for the 5G Pioneer initiative. We have also partnered with Google for pre-loaded Google Assistant."
