OPPO launches A5s, with amazing battery life, at Rs. 10,000
Chinese tech giant OPPO has launched its budget-friendly smartphone, the OPPO A5s, in India at Rs. 9,990. Key highlights of the phone include a 6.2-inch HD+ display, MediaTek Helio P35 chipset, and a massive 4,230mAh battery. Also, the device comes with a bunch of extra features such as Smart Scan, Smart Bar and Music on Display. Here's our roundup.
OPPO A5s: At a glance
Up front, the OPPO A5s comes with a waterdrop notched display and slim bottom bezel to offer a screen-to-body ratio of 81.6%. On the back, the textured mirror-finished panel houses dual cameras along with a fingerprint sensor. Further, it has a 6.2-inch HD+ (720x1520 pixels) In-Cell display with 19:9 aspect ratio and Gorilla Glass 3 protection.
For the shutterbugs and selfie lovers
On the back, OPPO A5s features a dual camera setup comprising a 13MP (f/2.2) primary sensor, paired with a 2MP (f/2.4) depth sensor which adds DSLR-like bokeh effects to your pictures. The main camera can record 1080p videos at 30fps. Up front, the phone comes with an 8MP (f/2.0) selfie snapper.
OPPO A5s: Under the hood
The OPPO A5s is powered by a 12nm octa-core MediaTek Helio P35 (MT6765) processor, paired with PowerVR GE8320 GPU, 2GB/3GB/4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 256GB via a micro-SD card. Under the hood, the phone packs a 4,230mAh battery and runs Android Oreo-based ColorOS 5.2.

OPPO A5s comes with Music on Display which allows you to play videos in the background. For example, users will be able to listen to YouTube even if their phone is locked. It also offers Smart Bar to quickly switch between apps, transfer files and reply to text messages. Smart Scan on A5s enables scanning and translation of text from the images.
Connectivity options and sensors onboard
In terms of connectivity features, the OPPO A5s supports 4G VoLTE with dual-SIM (Nano), Wi-Fi 802.11/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS/A-GPS, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a Micro-USB port. Sensors onboard the phone include an accelerometer, e-compass, and proximity sensor.
OPPO A5s available in Black and Red color options
OPPO A5s comes at a starting price of Rs. 9,990 for the base-end 2GB/32GB model. It is available in Black and Red color options. However, the Green and Gold variant will be released in May. The smartphone will be up for grabs via Amazon, Flipkart, Paytm Mall, Snapdeal, Tata CLiQ as well as offline retail stores.
