Opera One browser debuts on iOS with integrated AI assistant
Opera has launched its revamped Opera One browser for iOS devices, following a successful beta testing phase. The updated browser introduces a range of new features, designed to enhance user experience and streamline web browsing. These include a search bar placed at the bottom, quick search suggestions during typing, and integration with the Aria AI assistant.
Opera One introduces customizable search bar
The Opera One browser's default setting features a bottom-placed search bar, offering users easy browsing. However, users can choose to switch to the Standard Navigation or Fast Action Button style according to their preference. A simple swipe down will reveal the search bar, mirroring the functionality of iOS's Spotlight search feature.
Enhanced autocomplete feature and design tweaks
Opera has also improved its autocomplete feature in the new browser. Now, when users enter a query into the search engine, Opera will provide its own autocomplete options below the search box to speed up searches. The company has made subtle design changes for a better user experience, including hiding both top and bottom bars while scrolling on a page for a full-screen view.
Opera One replaces old newsfeed with carousel view
In a significant update, Opera is replacing its old newsfeed with a new carousel view in the Opera One browser. This updated feature will showcase personalized news, live scores, and product tips to users. The color of the top status bar will now match a site's theme, further enhancing the browsing experience.
Aria AI assistant gains new capabilities
Opera's AI-powered assistant, Aria, which was launched in May 2023 and integrated into the iOS version in August 2023, has also been updated. With the release of Opera One, Aria now supports voice input and image generation capabilities.
