Opera's Aria AI assistant introduces web page summaries on Android
Opera has upgraded its in-browser artificial intelligence (AI) tool, Aria, with a new feature that condenses text-based web pages into brief summaries for Android users. The AI-powered utility can quickly distill information from various sources like news articles, blog posts, or academic papers into a short summary that typically fits on one screen. This feature aims to help users quickly understand a topic and pinpoint the important details.
How to use Aria's new feature on Opera for Android
To utilize this new feature, users need to visit any text-based web page on the Opera Android browser. Then, they should click on the three dots located in the top right corner and select the "Summarize" option next to the Aria icon. This action will initiate a chat with Aria that presents a concise summary of the requested content. To access this functionality, users must upgrade to the latest version of Opera for Android and sign into their Opera account.
Aria's evolution and future developments
Aria, introduced last year, operates similarly to other AI search companions and features a chatbot-like interface that provides answers to questions as an alternative to searching the web for answers. Since its launch, Opera has been steadily enhancing Aria's capabilities through its AI Feature Drops Program. This program offers users early access to additional AI features. In the latest update, Opera has equipped Aria with the ability to generate images using Google's Imagen 2 and vocalize text responses.
