OpenAI rolls out new GPT-4o AI model to ChatGPT users
OpenAI launched its latest AI model, GPT-4o, at the "Spring Update" event. The new model is now being introduced to ChatGPT users, with some in India already having access to it. GPT-4o boasts significant improvements in speech and vision capabilities. Users can currently utilize the text and web search functionalities of this advanced model. Voice and video features will be introduced over the coming weeks, initially to Plus and Team accounts.
It is accessible to both free and paid users
To gain access to GPT-4o, an OpenAI account is required but there's no waitlist for joining. Once logged in, from the top drop-down menu, you can look out for the list of accessible models including GPT-4o, GPT-4, and GPT-3.5. If GPT-4o doesn't appear on your screen, then you don't have access to it yet. While the new model will be free for all users, the paying customers will receive a higher messaging limit compared to free users.
Improved response and analyzing capabilities
The new GPT-4o has demonstrated substantial improvements in its responses compared to its predecessor. A notable enhancement is seen in solving mathematical equations where it now presents answers in a better format without completing multiple steps at once. The most significant upgrade is the model's ability to search the web for the latest information, providing citations for each web-based search result. Users can also upload files to analyze and ask the model any questions about the content.
