ChatGPT can now perform tasks on your behalf: Here's how
What's the story
OpenAI has launched a new beta feature, Tasks, for its ChatGPT platform. The new addition makes the platform a proactive AI assistant that can handle and execute scheduled assignments.
You can now command ChatGPT to take future actions or set reminders at a specific time. These can be anything from one-time alerts to recurring updates like daily weather reports, weekly news summaries, or reminders for upcoming events like concert ticket sales.

How to utilize the new feature
To use the Tasks feature, you'd have to select "GPT-4o with scheduled tasks" from the model picker and then instruct ChatGPT about the task you want and when you want it.
All scheduled tasks can be managed right within your chat or via the "Tasks" section in the profile menu.
Notably, ChatGPT may also suggest tasks based on your interactions, allowing you to accept or decline them as you see fit.
Platform specifics
Task management and notification details
While you can schedule tasks on all platforms with natural language prompts, task management is limited to the task manager on the web version.
Once a task is set up, you'll get notifications on the web, desktop, and mobile. However, there's a limit of 10 active tasks that can run at the same time.
This new feature promises a more personalized, timely user experience by running these tasks as scheduled.
