OpenAI's GPT-4 Turbo is now available to paid ChatGPT users
OpenAI, the company behind the AI-driven chatbot ChatGPT, has announced a significant upgrade to its service. The new enhancement is available to premium users of ChatGPT, including those subscribed to ChatGPT Plus, Team and Enterprise. The updated model, named "GPT-4-Turbo-2024-04-09," is designed to improve the interactive experience of ChatGPT. "We've improved capabilities in writing, math, logical reasoning, and coding," the company said in a post on X.
New GPT-4 Turbo promises more direct, conversational responses
OpenAI has stated that with the new GPT-4 Turbo, "responses will be more direct, less verbose and use more conversational language." This enhancement is expected to significantly improve the overall user experience with ChatGPT. It also provides an updated knowledge base, having been trained on publicly accessible data until December 2023. This is a significant improvement from the previous model used in ChatGPT which was trained on data only until April 2023.
OpenAI's recent developments and challenges
This upgrade follows the general availability launch of new models in OpenAI's API earlier this week, including GPT-4 Turbo with Vision. The company has also expanded its custom model initiative to aid enterprise clients in creating tailored generative AI models for specific sectors and use cases. To further improve performance, new tools such as assisted fine-tuning and custom-trained models have been added to the program.
