OnePlus TV will be available offline via Reliance Digital stores
OnePlus's flagship television, which has been available exclusively via online channels, will now be up for purchase through the offline market as well. The company has partnered with Reliance Digital to sell the OnePlus TV across 600 stores in India. Notably, OnePlus has claimed to have "taken a 42% share of the premium smart TV segment on online partner Amazon," according to Economic Times.
OnePlus looks to tap into the offline market
"There is still about 65% of Indian population which are heavily offline based, and prefer to touch and feel a product before making a final purchase. Till now, OnePlus TV was exclusively online, but now we're taking it offline exclusively through Reliance Digital," said Vikas Agarwal, GM, OnePlus. He added that the TV will be introduced in a phased manner, beginning with metro cities.
Meanwhile, here's recalling the OnePlus TV
As far as its specifications are concerned, the OnePlus TV features a 55-inch 4K QLED display (95.7% screen-to-body ratio) with Dolby Vision and a OnePlus-designed Gamma Color Magic processor that offers industry-leading color representation (NTSC: 120%). It packs 8-speakers to offer a combined 50W audio output with support for Dolby Atmos. You also get a smart remote control with a dedicated Google Assistant button.
OnePlus TVs run on Android TV 9 with custom skin
The OnePlus TV runs on Android TV 9.0 with the company's custom content service called OxygenPlay. Further, there is also a OnePlus Connect feature that lets you pair your smartphone with the television to offer functionalities such as trackpad control, keyboard, smart volume control, app switching, and even offers screenshot taking capabilities.
Pricing: Cost of a flagship
On Amazon, the OnePlus TV Q1 and Q1 Pro (with built-in slider soundbar) are priced at Rs. 69,900 and Rs. 99,900, respectively. However, we don't know if these online prices will be retained for brick and mortar stores or we'll see new price tags.
