OnePlus TV is coming soon: Specifications, name, price and launch
OnePlus is working to launch its first-ever smart TV sometime by the end of September. As far as official information is concerned, the company has so far confirmed the name of the TV, its logo, and that it would be a "premium flagship TV." Meanwhile, some credible tipsters have also leaked additional details about the upcoming OnePlus TV. Here's all about it.
OnePlus TV will be offered in four sizes
Unimaginatively, it would be called OnePlus TV, and will be offered in four screen sizes across India, China, and the US. The 55-inch and 65-inch models will be standard across all markets while the 75-inch model will launch in the US and China markets. In India, the company might introduce an exclusive 43-inch model that is expected to come with a cheaper price tag.
OnePlus TV will offer a unique Android TV experience
According to reports, OnePlus TV will run on Android TV OS. However, instead of the vanilla version, we expect OnePlus to enhance user experience just like it does with Oxygen OS for smartphones. At this stage, we expect the TV to stream media, wirelessly sync with smartphones, use artificial intelligence to suggest content, and have some sort of integration with IoT devices.
From OLED screens to 4K resolution and Bluetooth connectivity
Considering OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has said that it would be "a premium and flagship" TV series, we expect it to come with features such as 4K resolution, HDR10+ support, and high-resolution audio. The TV and its remote controller will also offer Bluetooth support for wireless connectivity. Further, rumors also suggest that the company may offer OLED displays on some of the models.
Pricing and availability
MySmartPrice has claimed that OnePlus TV will launch in India in the last week of September 2019, anywhere "between the 25th and the 30th of the month." The launch event could be scheduled for September 26, but it is a tentative date as of now. Further, the TV will be available via Amazon, OnePlus e-store, and possibly other brand and partner retail stores.
