Another OnePlus Nord 2 blast reported; too many coincidences?
OnePlus's Nord 2 has allegedly been involved in another blast incident. According to a tweet by @lakshayvrm, his brother's Nord 2 exploded while he was on a call. The Twitter user has also shared images of the damaged phone. This is not the first time that Nord 2 users have reported the phone catching fire. Notably, OnePlus is yet to respond to the incident.
Why does this story matter?
A smartphone can catch fire due to a variety of reasons. However, when the same model is the protagonist of several blast stories, it calls for caution. Since its launch last July, many users have reported the OnePlus Nord 2 catching fire randomly. Although we are unsure of the reason, one wonders if these are just too many coincidences or something else.
OnePlus has so far blamed customers for the explosions
In the present case, the alleged blast of the OnePlus Nord 2 did not cause any injury to the user. However, when the phone reportedly caught fire inside a Delhi-based lawyer's coat pocket last year, he suffered burns. Another tweet from last year mentioned how the explosion of a Nord 2 led to severe burns. The company has attributed these incidents to customer-induced damages.
The smartphone features a 90Hz AMOLED display
