Alongside the flagship OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro models, India will also be greeted with a more affordable, "premium-tier device" OnePlus 9R model on March 23, CEO Pete Lau has told News18. "We are excited to launch the OnePlus 9R in India. We are focused on expanding our smartphone offering to cater to different user requirements with the OnePlus 9R by providing a robust flagship experience at a more accessible price point," said Lau.
The phone will sport a Full-HD+ display
The OnePlus 9R is expected to feature a punch-hole design with slim bezels and an in-display fingerprint sensor for secure authentication of biometric data. On the rear, it will have a multi-camera setup. The handset will reportedly bear a 6.5-inch Full-HD+ (1080x2400 pixels) AMOLED screen with an aspect ratio of 20:9 and a 90Hz or higher refresh rate.
It will house a 64MP main camera
The OnePlus 9R is said to pack a 64MP (f/1.7) primary sensor and an 8MP ultra-wide lens. However, we don't know if the rear camera will include any additional sensors. On the front, it may offer a 32MP selfie snapper.
The handset will offer 5G connectivity
The OnePlus 9R is likely to be powered by a Snapdragon 690 chipset, paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. It will run on Android 11-based OxygenOS 11 and may pack a 5,000mAh battery with 30W fast-charging support. In terms of connectivity, the device should offer support for dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, 5G, GPS, NFC, and a Type-C port.

The official pricing and availability details of the OnePlus 9R will be announced at the March 23 launch event. However, considering the expected specifications, the handset is likely to cost around Rs. 20,000.
