OnePlus 9 series confirmed to feature Snapdragon 888 chipset
OnePlus is ready to launch its 9 series of flagship smartphones on March 23. In the latest development, the tech giant has confirmed that the upcoming 9 and 9 Pro will be powered by the Snapdragon 888 chipset. Separately, the company has also revealed that the Pro model will support 50W wireless charging that will juice up the handset in just 43 minutes.
The smartphones will offer an adaptive screen refresh rate
The OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro will feature a punch-hole cut-out, slim bezels, and an in-screen fingerprint scanner. On the rear, they will pack up to quad cameras. The former will bear a 6.5-inch Full-HD+ (1080x2400 pixels) AMOLED screen while the latter will house a 6.7-inch QHD+ (1440x3216 pixels) AMOLED display. Both the handsets are expected to support 1-120Hz adaptive refresh rate.
The 9 Pro will have a 32MP selfie camera
OnePlus 9 will sport a triple rear camera setup, comprising a 48MP primary sensor, a 48MP ultra-wide lens, and an 8MP telephoto camera. The 9 Pro will also have a similar arrangement, but with a 50MP ultra-wide shooter and an additional 2MP depth sensor. For selfies, they will offer a 16MP and 32MP front-facing camera, respectively.
Under the hood, they will run on Android 11
The OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro will draw power from a Snapdragon 888 processor, coupled with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. They will boot Android 11-based OxygenOS 11 and pack a 4,500mAh battery with 65W wired fast-charging support. The 9 and 9 Pro models will also support 30W and 50W wireless charging, respectively.
OnePlus 9 series: Pricing and availability
OnePlus will announce the official pricing and availability details of the 9 series of smartphones on March 23. However, given the specifications and features, the line-up is expected to carry a starting price-tag of around Rs. 45,000.
