Full specifications and prices of OnePlus 8, 8 Pro leaked
Just days ahead of the April 14 official launch event, full specifications and pricing details of the upcoming OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro have been revealed. The leaked details reiterate some of the key hardware features we have already seen through a torrent of tip-offs while giving us a clearer picture of the differences between the duo.
About the design
By now, we know that the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro will feature a punch-hole design with curved screen edges and metal-glass bodies. However, the Pro version will be slightly taller and heavier (199g) than the regular model (180g). As for water-resistance, only the OnePlus 8 Pro is expected to come with IP68-rated build quality.
120Hz QHD v/s 90Hz Full-HD
The OnePlus 8 Pro will sport a 6.78-inch QHD+ (3168x1440 pixels) AMOLED display with support for 120Hz refresh rate whereas the standard model will settle for a 90Hz 6.55-inch Full-HD+ (2400x1080 pixels) screen. Both the handsets will get Gorilla Glass protection, HDR10+, in-screen fingerprint sensors, and support for Always-On display. The Pro variant will also boast of MEMC technology for video content smoothing.
Quad camera v/s Triple lens setup
The OnePlus 8 Pro will headline a quad camera setup including a 48MP main sensor, a 48MP ultra-wide lens, an 8MP telephoto lens, and a 5MP color filter sensor. Meanwhile, the regular OnePlus 8 will sport a triple-lens array comprising a 48MP main sensor, a 16MP ultra-wide lens, and another 2MP macro camera. On the front, both handsets will sport a 16MP camera.
Under the hood
The OnePlus 8 duo will be powered by the Snapdragon 865 5G processor, coupled with 8GB/12GB of LPDDR5 RAM (LPDDR4X on OnePlus 8) and 128GB/256GB of UFS 3.0 storage. The Pro variant will house a 4,510mAh battery with 30W wired and 30W wireless charging support while the OnePlus 8 will pack a 4,300mAh battery with 30W wired charging only.
Both handsets will also offer Dolby Atmos-powered stereo speakers
Both OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro will pack Dolby Atmos-powered stereo speakers and support 5G, Bluetooth 5.1 (with aptX, aptX HD, LDAC, AAC), NFC, Wi-Fi 6 (2.4GHz and 5GHz), Dual SIM cards (Nano), and USB Type-C USB 3.1 Gen 1.
The most expensive OnePlus smartphones till date
According to the tip-off, the OnePlus 8 will cost €729 (Rs. 60,000) for the entry-level 8GB/128GB model and €835 (Rs. 69,000) for the 12GB/256GB configuration. The 8GB/128GB OnePlus 8 Pro will be priced at €930 (Rs. 77,000) while the top-end 12GB/256GB variant will sell for €1,020 (Rs. 85,000) However, in India, the handsets may be priced a little lower than these converted rates.
