Ahead of launch, leak reveals full specifications of OnePlus 8-series
OnePlus is expected to announce its next batch of flagship smartphones, the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro, on April 15. Over the past few weeks, we have seen the CAD renders of the handsets and heard some tidbit information about their hardware. And now, reliable leaker Ishan Agarwal has revealed the full specifications of the upcoming OnePlus phones. Here are more details.
Only OnePlus 8 Pro will support 120Hz refresh rate
We already know the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro will come with a new look, featuring a punch-hole display and curved screen edges. Meanwhile, as per the new leak, only the Pro model will offer IP68-rated water protection. Moreover, the vanilla OnePlus 8 will sport a 6.55-inch Full-HD+ 90Hz AMOLED screen while the Pro model will get a 6.78-inch QHD+ 120Hz AMOLED display.
For the shutterbugs and selfie lovers
The OnePlus 8 Pro will house a quad-lens rear camera that will include a 48MP main sensor, another 48MP sensor (telephoto), an 8MP lens (ultra-wide), and a 5MP camera (for macro or depth). The standard model will get a triple-lens 48MP+16MP+2MP arrangement. For selfies, both handsets will come with a 16MP front-facing camera.
Under the hood
Both handsets will be powered by the 5G-enabled Snapdragon 865 chipset, paired with 8GB/12GB of LPDDR5 RAM (LPDDR4 on OnePlus 8) and 128GB/256GB of UFS 3.0 storage. Under the hood, the Pro model will pack a 4,510mAh battery with 30W wired charging, 30W wireless charging, and 3W reverse wireless charging support. The non-Pro version will offer a 4,300mAh battery with 30W wired charging only.
New color schemes are also on the cards
According to the latest tip-off, the OnePlus 8 Pro will come in Black, Blue, and Green color options while the standard OnePlus 8 will be offered in the shades of Black, Green, and Glow (Gold?).
