How will OnePlus 8 Lite look like?
We know OnePlus is working on the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro flagships but the company might surprise us with a new low-cost OnePlus 8 Lite handset - the company's first mid-range offering since the 2015's OnePlus X. Tipster @OnLeaks and @91Mobiles have collaborated to share the renders of the Lite model, revealing its design highlights and key features. Here's our roundup.
OnePlus 8 Lite: Design and display
The OnePlus 8 Lite will feature a center-aligned punch-hole design that we'll see on the upcoming Samsung S11 series. The edges won't be curved and the bezels will be slightly more prominent than the Samsung flagships. The screen size will be 6.4-6.5 inches and it will come with an integrated in-screen fingerprint reader. However, whether it would support 90Hz refresh rate remains unclear.
The phone will house a dual-lens rear camera setup
On the rear, the OnePlus 8 Lite will feature a dual-lens camera setup, housed in a rectangular camera arrangement - similar to the Galaxy S11. The setup is likely to comprise a standard wide sensor, a telephoto or an ultra-wide-angle lens, an LED flash unit, and possibly a ToF sensor. On the front, the display cut-out will contain a single selfie snapper.
Under the hood
While the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro will be powered by the newly announced Snapdragon 865 chipset, the OnePlus 8 Lite will get a mid-range processor. More details about the internals are unknown as of now. That said, the phone is likely to support wired fast-charging (perhaps Speed WARP 30T) via Type-C port and pack Dolby Audio-powered stereo speakers.
OnePlus 8 Lite to launch alongside OnePlus 8, 8 Pro
According to rumors, the company is expected to launch its OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro flagships in the second quarter of 2020. Hence, we can also expect the OnePlus 8 Lite to go official alongside the premium models.
