OnePlus 7 v/s OnePlus 7 Pro: What are the differences?

    What's the story

OnePlus is working to launch two new flagship phones under its OnePlus 7 series.

So far, OnePlus 7 was reported to feature an all-screen design, a pop-up selfie camera, and a triple-lens rear camera. But it turns out that these are the specifications of OnePlus 7 Pro.

We finally have renders of OnePlus 7, and it looks quite different from its "Pro" sibling.

    Design

    OnePlus 7 v/s OnePlus 7 Pro: At a glance

Right off the bat, the OnePlus 7 looks more like OnePlus 6T. Up front, it has a waterdrop notched display, a slim bottom bezel, all-glass body, and dual rear cameras.

In comparison, OnePlus 7 Pro has an uninterrupted all-screen design achieved by adopting a pop-up selfie camera, curved screen edges, and a triple-lens rear camera.

Clearly, the "Pro" model has a more premium design.

    Updates

Other notable changes on the OnePlus 7

While the OnePlus 7 does resemble its predecessor, there are a couple of noteworthy changes on the upcoming flagship.

Firstly, the earpiece grille is significantly larger than the one we have seen on OnePlus 6T. Hence, a dual speaker setup can be on the cards.

Secondly, the LED flash unit on the rear is now circular and is contained with the raised camera unit.

    New design

OnePlus 7 Pro gets a bunch of design changes

Apart from the all-screen design, OnePlus 7 Pro will also get a bigger earpiece grille for the second speaker.

Further, the alert slider is repositioned closer to the power button while the SIM-card tray has been moved from the left side to the bottom edge.

Also, the LED flash unit appears smaller than OnePlus 7 and is placed just below the raised camera hub.

    Display

OnePlus 7 v/s OnePlus 7 Pro: All about the screen

As per the renders and leaks, OnePlus 7 will feature a 6.41-inch flat screen, presumably an AMOLED display with full-HD+ resolution - much like the OnePlus 6T.

On the other hand, the OnePlus 7 Pro is said to sport a taller 6.64-inch Super AMOLED screen with curved edges, Quad HD+ resolution and a high refresh rate of 90Hz.

    Camera

For the shutterbugs and selfie lovers

According to a recent leak, OnePlus 7 Pro's triple camera setup will comprise a standard main sensor, a telephoto sensor, and another wide-angle sensor.

The setup will reportedly have a 48MP main sensor, paired with a 16MP wide-angle lens and an 8MP telephoto lens.

On the other hand, OnePlus 7 will have a dual-lens rear camera, but its specifications remain unclear as of now.

    Internals

    Under the hood

Without doubt, both OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro will be powered by the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset.

Further, depending on the variant, we can expect to see upto 12GB of RAM and 512GB of non-expandable storage.

Under the hood, the "Pro" model will house a 4,000mAh battery with 30W Speed Warp charging and a new vibration motor for improved haptic feedback.

    Coming soon

    Pricing and availability

According to @IshanAgarwal24, OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro may launch "in New York, UK and Bangalore simultaneously on 14th May." In India, the Bengaluru (Bangalore) event is likely to start at 8:30pm.

As for pricing, given the design makeover, camera upgrade, and internal increment, OnePlus 7 might see an uptick of $50-100 over OnePlus 6T while OnePlus 7 Pro would be more expensive.
