OnePlus 7 leak reveals new gradient colors, reiterates design change
As the successor to its popular OnePlus 6T, OnePlus is working to launch OnePlus 7 sometime in Q2 this year. So far, a series of leaks have confirmed that it will feature an all-screen design, pop-up selfie camera, and triple rear cameras. Now, TigerMobiles (via T3) has claimed that the upcoming phone will launch in new gradient colors. Here's everything to know.
OnePlus 7 to come in three new gradient colors
According to the leak, OnePlus 7 will come in Black Yellow, Black Purple, and Cyan Grey options. As for design, the Black/Cyan color will extend from the top edge till the rear camera array and will then fade into the secondary color. Notably, this isn't the first time OnePlus has tried blending two shades. Last year, we saw OnePlus 6T Thunder Purple as well.
OnePlus will most certainly feature a pop-camera design
As per previous renders and present leak, OnePlus 7 will sport an all-screen design achieved by adopting a pop-up camera. This radical design change will offer a significantly higher screen-to-body ratio of over 90% as against nearly 86% on the OnePlus 6T. On the back, the phone will sport a vertically-stacked triple rear camera setup with a curved glass design.
What else is changing on the OnePlus 7?
Alongside the new design, the OnePlus 7 will also have a couple of noteworthy changes. The earpiece grille is markedly bigger than OnePlus 6T's, possibly for packing a second speaker. The alert slider also appears to be repositioned closer to the power button, allowing better single-hand reachability. Further, OnePlus 7 will retain a Type-C port, bottom speaker, in-screen fingerprint sensor, and no headphone jack.
OnePlus 7 will offer triple rear cameras
As seen in the renders, OnePlus 7 will come with a triple rear camera setup. However, while it's unclear what that third sensor does, we can expect it to be a depth-sensor or a wide-angle sensor. Moreover, the front camera will be housed in a pop-up module which will most probably be a motorized setup.
OnePlus 7 specsheet: Everything we expect
We expect OnePlus 7 to run on Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset, paired with upto 10GB RAM and upto 256GB storage. Further, given OnePlus 7 won't support wireless charging, we expect to see 30W Speed Warp fast charging that debuted with OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition. Lastly, rumors also suggest that it will pack a bigger 4,150mAh battery as against OnePlus 6T's 3,700mAh battery.
Pricing and availability
OnePlus usually launches two flagship devices - one around May-June and another "T" upgrade around October-November. So, we can expect to see OnePlus 7 something in Q2 2019. As far as OnePlus 7's pricing is concerned, we might see an uptick of $50-100 over OnePlus 6T's.
