OnePlus 7 Pro v/s OnePlus 6T: Should you buy Pro?
As its most advanced smartphone ever, OnePlus launched the OnePlus 7 Pro yesterday. The premium model comes with a new QHD+ display with all-screen design, multiple cameras, and some notable under-the-hood upgrades including a dedicated liquid cooling system, UFS 3.0 storage, and top-end internals. But how does it fare against the company's outgoing flagship killer, the OnePlus 6T? Let's find out.
OnePlus 7 Pro v/s OnePlus 6T: At a glance
On OnePlus 7 Pro, OnePlus has eliminated the notch to offer an uninterrupted all-screen design achieved by adopting a pop-up selfie camera. With this, the phone boasts of a 93% screen-to-body ratio. The Pro model has curved edges on the front and back, a metal-glass sandwiched body, and a triple-lens rear camera. Overall, it's a pretty huge design makeover in comparison to OnePlus 6T.
OnePlus 7 Pro goes big with QHD+ AMOLED screen
The OnePlus 6T comes with a 6.41-inch flat screen, AMOLED display with a full-HD+ resolution. However, with the OnePlus 7 Pro, the company has offered one of the best displays ever on a smartphone. The premium model gets a taller 6.67-inch QHD+ (1440x3120 pixels) Fluid AMOLED display with 516ppi pixel density, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, and 90Hz refresh rate.
For the shutterbugs and selfie lovers
Interestingly, OnePlus has replaced 6T's 16MP+20MP dual rear camera with a new in-trend triple-lens setup on the Pro model. OnePlus 7 Pro offers a 48MP (f/1.7, OIS) main lens, paired with an 8MP (f/2.4, OIS) telephoto lens which offers 3x optical zoom, and a 16MP (f/2.2) wide-angle lens. Up front, the Pro model gets a 16MP (f/2.0) selfie snapper - similar to OnePlus 6T.
Under the hood
Beyond the usual chipset upgrade from 6T's Snapdragon 845 to Snapdragon 855, the OnePlus 7 Pro has a lot to offer. The phone has a dedicated liquid cooling for better heat management. Further, it offers upto 12GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.0 support which is 79% faster than OnePlus 6T's UFS 2.0 storage format. OnePlus 7 Pro also offers dual stereo speakers.
OnePlus 7 Pro gets a bigger, better, faster battery
As an upgrade to OnePlus 6T's 3,700mAh battery, the OnePlus 7 Pro now packs a 4,000mAh battery. Further, the premium model also gets 30W Warp Charging while the standard OnePlus 6T offers 20W fast charging.
OnePlus 7 Pro is the company's most-expensive phone till date
Given OnePlus 7 Pro arrives with top-of-the-line upgrades, it is naturally the company's most-expensive offering ever. In India, it starts at Rs. 48,999 for the 6GB/128GB storage model. The mid-end 8GB/256GB variant and top-end 12GB/256GB model are priced at Rs. 52,999 and Rs. 57,999, respectively. In comparison, OnePlus 6T currently retails for Rs. 32,999 for the 8GB/128GB model and Rs. 36,999 for 8GB/256GB model.
