What's the story

OnePlus 7 on May 14, has been spotted on processor benchmarking site Geekbench. According to the listing, the upcoming flagship with model number GM1917 will run on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset, coupled with at least 12GB of RAM and Android Pie-based Oxygen OS 9. Firstly, what is Geekbench and Geekbench's scores?

Geekbench is a cross-platform processor benchmark platform which grades processors on their single-core and multi-core performances. While calculating multi-core scores, Geekbench runs multiple streams of instructions simultaneously per core and reports an aggregate score. With single-core scores, the same process is applied but on a single core. Notably, the quicker a CPU completes the instructions, the higher is its Geekbench score.

According to the Geekbench listing, OnePlus 7 Pro will come with a 7nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset, paired with at least 12GB RAM and Android Pie OS. Moreover, the phone is likely to come in 6GB and 8GB RAM variants as well. In terms of scores, the OnePlus 7 Pro scored 3,551 in single-core tests and 11,012 in multi-core performance.

Based on recent leaks, OnePlus 7 Pro model will feature an uninterrupted all-screen design, triple rear-camera setup, and a pop-up selfie camera. Interestingly, this model will also offer curved screen edges, a repositioned alert slider, and stereo speakers. Further, the phone is said to sport a 6.67-inch Super Optic AMOLED display with Quad HD+ resolution and a variable refresh rate of 60Hz to 90Hz.

What about the camera specifications

According to leaks, OnePlus 7 Pro will feature a triple-lens rear camera comprising a 48MP primary sensor, joined by a 16MP (f/2.2) wide-angle lens with 117-degree field-of-view and an 8MP (f/2.4) telephoto sensor with 3x optical zoom. Up front, the motorized pop-up up camera module is tipped to house a 16MP (f/2.0) selfie snapper. Wired has also leaked some details of the camera.

The main camera has 0.3 seconds of shutter lag, Auto HDR, 10x digital zoom, and a 20-frame limit for burst mode. Wired reported that the optically-zoomed (3x) photos retain detail rather than trying to remove noise while the 48MP main sensor uses pixel binning to offer 12MP images with heavy noise reduction. Further, the phone will also offer a Night Mode for low-light photography.

Thanks to many leaks, we know OnePlus 7 Pro will be backed by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset and run Android Pie-based OxygenOS 9.5.1. Under the hood, it will pack a 4,000mAh battery with 30W Warp Charging support via USB Type-C 3.1 port. Moreover, the phone is tipped to offer improved vibration motor for haptic feedback and UFS 3.0 storage format.

Pricing and availability

OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro will be officially unveiled on May 14 in India, US, and Europe. In India, the launch event will be held at Bengaluru International Exhibition Centre and it will start at 8:15 pm local time. As for pricing, the standard model is likely to start at Rs. 37,999 while the Pro model could be priced around Rs. 50,000.
