OnePlus 7 series to launch on May 14, pricing tipped
The countdown to the much-awaited OnePlus-7'>OnePlus 7 Series has begun as OnePlus has announced to launch its latest batch of flagship phones on May 14. So far, a barrage of leaks has given away design details and specifications of the OnePlus 7 and the OnePlus 7 Pro. In the latest development, the price of the Pro edition has been tipped. Here are the details.
A bit about the launch event
OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro are set to be launched officially on May 14 in India, US, and Europe. In India, the event will be held at Bengaluru International Exhibition Centre starting at 8:15 pm. The tickets for the launch event, priced at Rs. 999, will go on sale at 10 am on April 25 via the OnePlus India website.
OnePlus 7 Pro tipped to cost around Rs. 52,000
Meanwhile, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has hinted that the Pro model could be priced around 5,000 Yuan which is roughly Rs. 52,000. In a Weibo post, a user asked if 5,000 Yuan ($745) would be enough to buy the OnePlus 7 Pro. In reply, Lau responded that it would be just enough (translated from Chinese), hinting that the Pro variant will cost around $745.
Meanwhile, here's a look at OnePlus 7, OnePlus 7 Pro
As per renders, the OnePlus 7 looks more like OnePlus 6T. Up front, it has a waterdrop notched display, a slim bottom bezel, all-glass body, and dual rear cameras. In comparison, OnePlus 7 Pro has an uninterrupted all-screen design achieved by adopting a pop-up selfie camera, curved screen edges, and a triple-lens rear camera. Both phones are also likely to offer dual speakers.
All about the screen
According to leaks, OnePlus 7 will feature a 6.4-inch flat AMOLED display with a full-HD+ resolution of 2340×1080 pixels - same as the OnePlus 6T. On the other hand, OnePlus 7 Pro will get a taller 6.7-inch Super AMOLED screen with curved edges, Quad-HD+ (3120x1440 pixels) and a 90Hz refresh rate. Both phones will also offer an in-screen fingerprint sensor.
OnePlus 7 Pro to offer a 48MP triple camera setup
OnePlus 7 Pro is tipped to feature a triple-lens rear camera comprising a 48MP (f/1.7) primary sensor with OIS+EIS, joined by a 16MP (f/2.2) wide-angle lens with 117-degree field-of-view and an 8MP (f/2.4) telephoto sensor with 3x optical zoom. Up front, the pop-up camera module is likely to house a 16MP selfie snapper with an f/2.0 aperture.
OnePlus 7 to get a 48MP dual-lens rear camera
The standard OnePlus 7 will sport a dual rear camera setup with a 48MP (f/1.7) primary sensor and a 5MP depth sensor. Up front, the phone will presumably feature a 16MP (f/2.0) selfie camera nestled in the waterdrop-like notch.
All the important stuff: Chipset, memory and storage
Both OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro will be powered by the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset. The Pro edition will come in three configurations of 6GB/128GB, 8GB/256GB, and 12GB/256GB whereas the standard model will be offered in 6GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB variants. Notably, OnePlus 7 Pro is also tipped to get the latest UFS 3.0 storage format for faster read and write capabilities.
OnePlus 7, OnePlus 7 Pro: Battery specifications
As per the leak, OnePlus 7 Pro will pack a 4,000mAh battery with support for 30W Speed Warp fast charging. On the other hand, the OnePlus 7 will house a 3,700mAh battery with 20W fast charging support - same as the OnePlus 6T.
