Details
About OnePlus 6T's Screen Unlock feature
OnePlus CEO Pete Lau recently explained that Screen Unlock technology uses "a new optical fingerprint module, which houses a small lens that can accurately register your fingerprint as it presses down on the cover glass".
He further added that a "dedicated 'Trust Zone' found in the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor" is being used to confidentially store your fingerprint information, locally on the device.

Lau claims that Screen Unlock will become faster with use
Lau, in his blog post, further mentioned that Screen Unlock feature will use self-learning software algorithms "to recognize your fingerprint with higher accuracy through extended use". This hardware-software combination, he suggested, will "intelligently preload your fingerprint information for an incredibly fast unlock experience".
Here's why
OnePlus 6T should come with Gorilla Glass 6 protection
Gorilla Glass 6, Corning's toughest glass to date, also offers improved optical clarity and touch sensitivity.
And these best-in-class characteristics make the glass all the more appropriate on a phone with an in-display sensor - like the OPPO R17 which debuted the Gorilla Glass 6.
Hence, considering OnePlus 6T's Screen Unlock gadgetry and OPPO-OnePlus company association, the phone should come with Gorilla Glass 6.
Design and display
OnePlus 6T: At a glance
OnePlus 6T will feature an OPPO R17-like waterdrop notched display to boast a higher screen-to-body ratio of around 90% - a fair upgrade from 84% on OnePlus 6
Reportedly, the phone is expected to pack a 6.41-inch full-HD (2340x1080-pixel) AMOLED display with a 19:9 aspect ratio.
Moreover, the new design and Screen Unlock gadgetry will kill the rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and the 3.5mm jack.
Internals
What else to expect from OnePlus 6T?
OnePlus 6T will see the biggest jump over any previous 'T' version upgrade by the company.
That said, it should retain all the flagship internals of the OnePlus 6 - the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, up to 8GB RAM and up to 256GB of storage.
But, we should also see improved optics on the dual-rear camera setup, considering a triple-rear camera is not happening.
