OnePlus 6 might launch in India on May 18
According to reports, the much-awaited OnePlus 6 might launch in India in mid-May, with some claiming the exact date to be May 18. Earlier, it was hinted that the flagship smartphone might come around the end of April or the first week of May. Notably, the company has not come out with an official launch date as of yet.
The phone might be priced at Rs. 39,000
The OnePlus 6 is expected to start selling at Rs. 39,000, with its higher variants very well crossing Rs. 40,000. Earlier, the phone was reported to be priced at Rs. 34,000. Any which way, the device will be OnePlus's most expensive offering so far. It will reportedly be Amazon-exclusive in India, but will also be sold through the company's official website and offline stores.
What is expected out the device
According to reports, the OnePlus 6 will sport a 6.2-inch Full HD+ display with a wide-screen aspect ratio of 19:9, 16MP + 20MP dual rear cameras, and a 20MP front camera. It will feature three variants of 6GBRAM/64GB storage, 8GB RAM/128 GB storage, and a humongous 12GB RAM/256GB storage option. The smartphone will run Android Oreo-based Oxygen 5.1 and may have a 3,450mAh battery.
What is confirmed about the device
The upcoming phone will feature a notch which will hide when a video is played in full screen. It will have OnePlus's biggest screen with a 90% screen-to-body ratio, but the phone itself won't be any larger. It will have a headphone jack, bottom bezel, 4K video recording capability, IP68 water resistance, and will most probably be bundled with the OnePlus Bullets Wireless earphones.
What else do we know?
The company has partnered with Marvel Studios to bring out an Avengers-themed OnePlus 6 variant. This exclusive model is expected to debut around the India release of 'Avengers: Infinity War' on April 27. Latest renders reveal that the OnePlus 6 will come in three color options of black, blue and white. It will be powered by a Snapdragon 845 processor.
