The 2018 OnePlus flagship smartphone will be Amazon exclusive in India, according to a report by Gadgets 360. The report says an extended version of the "The speed you need" OnePlus 6 teaser has revealed that the smartphone will be sold only via Amazon in India. Notably, all previous OnePlus smartphones have been sold via Amazon. So, there are no surprises there. Here's our OnePlus 6 roundup.
OnePlus 6 will be powered by Snapdragon 845 SoC
OnePlus 6's "The speed you need" tagline hints at what several reports had earlier suggested. OnePlus 6 will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC - the top-end mobile processor also seen on Samsung Galaxy S9, S9+. The smartphone is expected to come in 6GB and 8GB RAM variants along with three inbuilt storage options - 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB.
OnePlus 6 will look nothing like its predecessors
OnePlus recently teased some design changes and we now know that the smartphone will incorporate major design changes compared to OnePlus 5T. OnePlus 6 will sport a taller display as it embraces a notch. The volume rockers have been re-positioned and the alert slider has been moved to the right. Moreover, OnePlus 6 is seen sporting a metal frame and redesigned antenna bands.
OnePlus 6 will feature a redesigned camera as well
A recent OnePlus 6 case design surfaced online has further confirmed rumors of a vertically positioned rear-dual camera setup on the smartphone. In terms of optics, some reports have suggested a 16MP + 20MP (wide-angle + telephoto) dual rear camera setup and a 20MP front camera. Notably, the smartphone will run Android Oreo-based Oxygen 5.1 OS and is expected to pack a 3,450mAh battery.
OnePlus 6 will support gestures; slider doubles up as focus-adjuster
The company had earlier teased that the alert slider on OnePlus 6 will come with a "slide to focus" feature. This suggests that OnePlus may bring back telephoto sensor and you could 'slide' to switch between the wide-angle and telephoto lens. Further, the company has also teased that OnePlus 6 will focus on speed and performance along with support for iPhone X-like gestures.
