OnePlus 6 gets Android Pie-based OxygenOS Open Beta 2
Just days after releasing the first version of Android 9 Pie-based OxygenOS Open Beta for OnePlus 6, the company has now started rolling out its second version. The OxygenOS Open Beta 2 for the OnePlus 6 brings several system improvements including Wi-Fi stability, optimized multitasking UI, and optimized image quality for the front camera, among others. Here's what is new in OxygenOS Open Beta 2
As per the official changelog, Wi-Fi stability has been improved, along with optimized background power consumption control and pocket mode. The multitasking UI has also been refined and scrolling/touch latency issues from first open beta have been addressed. Moreover, OnePlus has optimized image quality for the front camera, offered an improved UI for OTPs and added volume settings shortcut underneath the volume panel.

Those who are on OxygenOS Open Beta 1 should get the Beta 2 build as an OTA update. However, if you are running a stable version, you can download it from here: https://otafsg.h2os.com/patch/amazone2/GLO/OnePlus6Oxygen/OnePlus6Oxygen_22.W.07_GLO_007_1809071908/OnePlus6Oxygen_22_OTA_007_all_1809071908_8f1d8.zip Once downloaded, copy the installation package in your phone's storage and use Local Upgrade option to install the file (Settings ->Software updates->Gear icon on top-right corner->Local Upgrade).

To recall, the OxygenOS Open Beta 1 had introduced Android Pie user-interface, gesture controls, and other system improvements. The update also brought several OnePlus tweaks such as support for accent color customization and a new 'Do Not Disturb' mode with adjustable settings. Further, OnePlus had also introduced a new Gaming Mode 3.0 with added text notification mode and added notification for 3rd party calls.
