OnePlus 6 is on its way, forget about OnePlus 5T
Reports suggest that OnePlus is gearing up to launch its next flagship smartphone model sometime in early 2018. In fact, the launch date might be as early as January. The firm has decided not to come out with a OnePlus 5T following the launch of its OnePlus 5 model. Instead, it will now launch the new flagship model, dubbed OnePlus 6. Here's more.
There are plenty of rumors
Launching a OnePlus 6 would also mean that the BBK Electronics-owned phone maker is deviating from its one-flagship-a-year strategy. Although concrete details about the OnePlus 6 have not surfaced yet, rumors cite that the Chinese phone company had started working on the upcoming model as soon as it launched OnePlus 5.
A brand new design is in the offing
According to the rumors that are doing the rounds, the new flagship model by OnePlus will have a completely different design from its predecessors. Chances are high that it will come with a bezel-less screen, as that is the trend among smartphone manufacturers, these days. The screen is also expected to be bigger than the 5.5-inch display that the OnePlus 5 boasts of.
Expect the latest processor onboard
OnePlus always uses the latest processors. All its models have housed the latest chips available in the market at the time of their launch. OnePlus 5 uses Snapdragon 835, OnePlus 3T had Snapdragon 821 and OnePlus 3, Snapdragon 820. Chances are high that the OnePlus 6 will come equipped with the Snapdragon 845, which Qualcomm, reportedly, is going to announce in December.
Storage should be taken care of
Design wise, the fingerprint sensor may get moved to the rear cover, and ports and speaker vents might also change their position. It's expected that the OnePlus 6 will be launched in two variants - 6GB RAM and 8GB RAM - keeping in mind the consumers' requirements. On the onboard storage end, it is likely to come up with 128GB and 256GB variants.
A better camera
To many, the OnePlus 5 camera was not up to the mark. For this, the firm faced considerable flak. However, this time around, one can safely say that the firm will rectify its mistake and the OnePlus 6 will feature a much better camera. Regular frills, such as USB-C port, dash charging, Oxygen OS based on Android Oreo, should definitely be onboard.
