OnePlus 6 receives selfie portrait mode with OxygenOS 5.1.6 update
Launched amid much fanfare, the OnePlus 6 had some initial software issues which the company promised to fix. And now, in what will be its second major update, OnePlus 6 will soon get a selfie portrait mode and other important fixes via OxygenOS 5.1.6. The newly released software will be rolled out in India and other countries over the next few days. Here's more.
What's new in the Oxygen 5.1.6 update
Apart from the selfie portrait feature, OxygenOS 5.1.6 brings a battery percentage option in the status bar, support for Idea VoLTE services, dual-SIM card stability issues fix and dual-4G network option. Other updates include a review for Light Bokeh effect in portrait mode, optimized call clarity, improved ringtone and sound quality, scheduled DND mode, optimized power consumption, and smart answer for Bluetooth devices.

Interestingly, OnePlus uses a HydrogenOS build for its smartphones in China as against OxygenOS for its devices outside of China. Generally, the HydrogenOS gets updates before the OxygenOS. In China, OnePlus 6 started receiving the selfie portrait mode last week itself with the HydrogenOS 5.1.6.
Other previous OnePlus 6 updates
The OnePlus 6, with its first update (OxygenOS 5.1.3), had gotten features such as the ability to hide the notch, latest security patch, super slow motion video recording, and camera app updates. However, the Always-On Ambient Display feature was reportedly removed in the same update. And recently, the phone was updated to OxygenOS 5.1.5 firmware that brought a few bug fixes and stability improvements.
